Rasterize Element

The Flash plug-in remains unrivalled in its flexibility and ability to display websites. HTML5 can display many elements exactly as they appear in your Flash website, but there are some restrictions. For example, frames you add to your images cannot be rendered in HTML5.The function „Rasterize Element“ enables you to display incompatible elements as images in your HTML5 website. Simply select the desired element and Render as Image and it will be converted into an image, including all effects and transformations applied. These changes also apply in edit mode – so you won’t be able to adjust the applied effects to it anymore.

 Settings

With the introduction of HTML5 publish, you will now have three different versions of your published website, each in a format optimized for particular browsers and devices. From now on, you can take control over which version will be displayed on each device class.

There is an automatic selection based on the detected device and browser capabilities. The default setting is to display the full Flash version on desktop computers where Flash is available, the HTML5 version on tablet computers and the Mobile version on all smart-phones and other mobiles.

You can alter this behavior using the settings panel. For example, if you might want to show the HTML5 on tablets and smartphones instead of the Mobile version. Or any other combination you find useful. Note that the system will try to provide a compatible fallback version if the selected version cannot be displayed.
