When uploading a movie to the Sitebuilder, it gets automatically converted into the FLV format (Flash Video Format). If the uploaded movie format is not FLV then it will be automatically converted into FLV once the upload is complete. Therefore, if you can’t get the movie to play immediately after it’s been uploaded, you don’t have to worry about it! It’s being converted into the FLV format. Once the conversion is complete, the ‘Converting, this might take a while’ alert will disappear from the movie controller and the movie can be launched. The conversion time frame may vary according to the original format of the movie but also its size. However, the conversion shouldn’t take more that a few minutes regardless of the movie original format and size. If the format of the uploaded movie is already FLV, then it doesn’t get processed after the upload. The movie goes through no conversion as it’s already in the suitable format and it can be played instantly once the upload is complete. To find out more about the supported video formats and why the uploaded movies get converted into FLV, follow this link. | |
