What is the little orange dot that sometimes appears next to my page names in my site structure?
Posted by Sanjeev Kanth on 06 June 2011 10:45 AM

When you modify the content of a given Webpage without saving the changes, an orange dot will automatically appear next to the modified page at the ‘Site Structure’ menu level.

You can save the changes:

1. By going to the ‘File’ ribbon and clicking on ‘Save Draft’

Save Draft

This way, the change will be saved but won’t be published live

2. By going to the ‘File’ ribbon and clicking on ‘Publish Live’

Publish Live

This way, this changes will be saved and published online

3. By using the following keyboard shortcut: ‘Ctrl + S’

This way, the changes will be saved to the draft but won’t be published online

In case you try to logoff prior to saving the changes, the dialog-box below will be displayed

You have unsaved changes

  • Click ‘Yes’ to save the change and logout from the Sitebuilder
  • Click ‘No’ to leave the Sitebuilder without saving the changes
  • Click ‘Cancel’ to continue editing your Website
